Support Services

All children under the age of 3 who may have a developmental delay or have special needs are eligible to receive services through the State Regional Programs. Visit the local Regional program, Eastern Los Angeles Region Center website at to ask for an evaluation. Either a parent or physician can request a free assessment. Services are provided at no or low cost.

Poison Control
Call the Poison Control hotline if you are concerned that your child swallowed or came into contact with something poisonous.

211 is a free information and referral service that connects people to health and human services in their community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Early Start program
The Early Start program is California’s early intervention program for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. Early Start services are available statewide and are provided in a coordinated, family-centered system.

WIC helps families get healthy food and a lot more. WIC helps families by providing nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, and referrals to healthcare and other community services. WIC serves babies and children up to age 5, pregnant women, and new mothers.
