About Dr. Muñoz
Dr. Muñoz is a board-certified pediatrician who completed her medical training at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. While she enjoyed caring for patients of all ages during her training, she chose Pediatrics to witness the magic of life—watching newborns grow and develop into their unique selves as young adults.
Being part of these transitions and milestones, with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life, inspired her to dedicate her career to Pediatrics.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Muñoz specializes in the care of newborns, children, adolescents, and young adults. She has a particular passion for caring for newborns and feels honored to guide and support new parents on their incredible journey.
Dr. Muñoz graduated from St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy in Downey, California, before earning her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University. She completed her medical education at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) and her pediatric residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
During her medical training, Dr. Muñoz gained valuable experience caring for patients at renowned pediatric medical centers in Southern California, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Long Beach Memorial Miller Children’s Hospital, and Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
Dr. Muñoz has created a practice where patients and their families feel heard, supported, and guided. She takes pride in partnering with parents to build trusting relationships, ensuring that every family feels empowered and cared for.
Dr. Muñoz is grateful for her wonderful husband and their three young daughters. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and watching movies with her family. Together, they love traveling, trips to the beach, bike rides around the neighborhood, and spending time outdoors.
Her husband, Dr. Emiliano Chavira, is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist who provides care for women with high-risk pregnancies, twin pregnancies, and breech pregnancies. He is available for consultations regarding your pregnancy—feel free to message us for more information about this service.
