About Dr. Muñoz
Dr. Muñoz is a board-certified pediatrician. She trained as a physician at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California. Although she loved caring for patients of all ages during her medical training, she chose the field of Pediatrics to be a witness to the magic of life where a newborn grows and develops into their own person as a young adult.
Being a part of these transitions and changes with the possibility to make a difference in someone’s life was what led her to focus on Pediatrics.
As a pediatrician, Dr. Muñoz specializes in the care of newborns, children, adolescents, and young adults. She has a special interest in caring for newborns and is honored to support and guide new parents in their incredible journey as parents.
However, when there is a need, Dr. Muñoz will care for non-pediatric patients, as well. She understands how difficult it is to find good medical care these days!
Dr. Muñoz is a life-long learner, which is why being a doctor is so fulfilling for her. She completed high school at St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy in Downey, California. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University, her medical education at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC), and completed her pediatric residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
Throughout her medical training, Dr. Muñoz cared for patients at distinguished pediatric medical centers in Southern California, including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Long Beach Memorial Miller Children’s Hospital, and Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
Dr. Muñoz’s vision is to build a practice where patients and their families feel they are receiving excellent care. She enjoys partnering with parents to create a trusting relationship.
Dr. Muñoz is blessed with a wonderful husband and three young daughters. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and watching movies with her family. She and her family love traveling, trips to the beach, riding bikes around the neighborhood, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Muñoz’s husband is Dr. Emiliano Chavira, who is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist who cares for women with high-risk pregnancies, twin pregnancies, and breech pregnancies. He is available for consultations regarding your pregnancy. Please message us about this service.
